First rate computer with big memory, and light in weight. Very easy to carry about in a case. Very capable cpu.

keys are quite unresponsive at times and i keep losing formatting on my work which is frustrating to say the least. would not buy again. this webpage forces me to give it at least 1 star - not my first choice!

I'm not looking for a fast gaming machine. I just want something for browsing the internet, microsoft office (yet to purchase and install) and storing my music/itunes and photos.
The first few occassions I've used this it was a touch slow. That's because it was installing so many updates. Once it had stopped doing this it became much quicker. In addition changing the power options from 'balanced' to 'high performance' has made life much smoother.
The computer looks very slick. I have the white 500GB version. The keyboard is no issue. Having gone from my work 14" lenovo to this the difference takes a bit of getting used to, but not much. No issues from keyboard flex (how hard do people type?). It's light and ultra portable. I have bought a zip up neoprene case from Amazon for storage.
I've bought to complement this an external DVD writer. NB, because the USB ports are on either side of the machine, and the writer requires two USB points, this will require a USB extension cable or splitter. For reading DVD only one USB is required. For writing, 2 are required.
Despite being less than £300 this laptop feels like a quality product and really pleased with it so far.
If Microsoft Office goes well on this machine and in the next few months I find no teething issues I will definitely upgrade my review to 5 stars.
Until then, this is a bargain 4 star machine.

I'm very pleased with my Ideapad. The size is just what I wanted and it has everything required. So easy to carry about. Lovely bright display and easy to set up and use. I have had no problem with internet connectivity wherever in the house I have used it. Definitely a satisfied customer.

I needed a laptop on a budget, I wanted more than a netbook, 4gigs of Ram, dual core and a 720p screen all while being 11 inches in size. This little girl fitted the bill perfectly and I was delighted to see it under my budget.

There are parts of this laptop I love, parts I can live with and reasons why I will be sending mine back.

Pros:
Super light, thin, well spec'd, 720p screen (which is bright, crisp and very nice), hdmi out, sd card slot , 2 usb slots, nice keyboard, quiet fan even when pushed hard and never got uncomfortably hot.

This really is a nice laptop. For the week I've had it, it's been great. It streams 1080p over hdmi to my 42 inch lcd tv even with the desktop extended to full 1080, this machine had no problems.

Cons:
Slightly glossy plastics (but the white version I got didn't show any marks unless you looked close), slight keyboard flex when pressed hard (but under normal use it's perfectly fine and non-existent).

Problems:
> The listing says it comes with W7 HP 64 bit, but it's actually 32 bit.
> The webcam doesn't seem to work no matter what I try. amazon say optional 720p webcam but It hoguht at least it would come with a 0.3mp. I'm not sure if this had one at all.
> The pictures show a sim card slot in this listing, this version doesn't come with one. (I wasn't expecting one anyway but just so people are aware.)
> The biggest problem is the touchpad, the bottom right corner is sunken and not flush like the left hand side. This results in 50% of clicks on the right button not to be registered, it really is annoying. At first I thought it was a defect so I returned the laptop and got a replacement but it has the same issue. It looks like a fault in either every s206 or this batch at least.

Conclusion:
I do like this laptop and if it wasn't for the last problem I would be keeping this and be very happy with it, but it's too much for me to live with every day so I'm going to return this one as well.
