after my 8 year old computer. the lenovo is a dream,as it's so quick.
i'm stiil learning my way round the computer. so i'm not getting the best out of it at the moment.
i'm in the process of getting it fitted on the wall. & getting the tv sorted out which will give me
more room. the lack of wires every were is another bonus. also their is the touch screen. which
i've not used yet.

poor quality product. I have had this for about 4 weeks and it has crashed (blue screen) about 20 times.There must be a softwarte conflict somewhere but I cant find it. I am wondering if I should try the windows 8 offer to see if that would be more stable. faoiling that, it might have to go back!!not a good experience.

Got this during a promotion from amazon for just under £1000. No grumbles is very sleek and efficient. I have noticed other reviews stating that the system is unreliable. Well not for me, the one review stated that when starting the system said no operating system. Although I cannot confirm on that occasion, if you get this error, reboot, keep pressing F8, then you should be given an option to either, start in safe mode or start windows normally.

Bottom line highly recommend, a lot of bang for your buck.

I have just had a refund on my second 540p. This was the third one I have had. The first one was returned to another company - it kept saying "cannot detect an operating system". The next one which I purchased from Amazon lost the Disc Drive icon and corrupted the driver - Lenovo said I had to reset it to Factory settings, which I did. The same thing happened again. Finally Amazon were good enough to replace the machine and this one worked fine for a couple of weeks. When it came up with the same message - "cannot find the operating system" and when I tried many times to do a system repair it just would not start up. Amazon have given me a refund and I would not recommend this system to anyone unless you want a lot of trouble!!

Initially I made the mistake of assuming that all Lenovo Idea Centres were 'touch-screen'. This model is not. My mistake and a case of RTFM.
I've no regrets though! This is a powerful machine and it works very well. It takes a while to start, but awakens from its slumber within a few seconds.
My only gripe is that it seems extremely noisy when burning CDs/DVDs. Anyway, I'm off to order a pair of industrial ear defenders.

Bought this computer and immediately updated the OS to Windows 8 for £15. The Bluetooth module and the USB 3.0 hub are not compatible with Windows 8 but the USB 3.0 hub has a new driver installed automatically by Windows update and then works. The Bluetooth module is not so lucky but is no issue for me. The whole package works well and fast. The screen and audio are good enough for my needs although I do not use the touchscreen other than the odd occasion to play one of the preinstalled games. I have certainly noticed an increase in the speed of running various application compared to my old i7(dual core) computer. There is occasional fan noise in a silent room but it is faint and not annoying.

When the PC was delivered, I was very impressed with the initial setup out the box. Everything went smoothly and I was soon up and running. The specs delivered more than enough performance to run various games and to transfer over all my files and setting without issue.

After a week, the PC experienced a blue screen error and when rebooted afterwards displayed "Error 1962, cannot find Operating System". After multiple soft and hard resets eventually I was able to log back into Windows. Diagnostic scans couldn't find anything wrong and I assumed it was a one off problem.

However, the PC continued to crash far too frequently for a brand new machine, and proved irrecoverable on each occasion, requiring a full restart. On two further occasions I received blue screen errors and I finally returned the PC to Amazon for a refund once the "1962" issue came back in the third week of ownership. Crashes were often provoked by something as simple as running Media Player together with an email program, so it wasn't being taxed in that respect. From looking online, the fault would seem to be hardware-related, possibly with the Hard Drive or the motherboard.

If the build quality issues were resolved, this would easily rate as a 4* or even possibly a 5* purchase. No recovery disk is provided and all of the drivers appeared to be needing updates, which is not ideal for a new PC. The keyboard was too small and easy to miss keys on, but otherwise it was very pleasant to look at and very easy to use.

Had the computer for 1 week and everything seemed fine, then suffered a complete shutdown and when trying to turn back on, got unable to find operating system, fault code 1962, finally turned on after 4 attempts but after 1 week suffered another fault code 1962 but no recovery and lost everything. Did google fault code 1962 and it suggest hard drive failure. We suggest this computer is full of cheap, low quality components!
