This laptop struggles with the most basic tasks. Several times it will just stop working for no reason, running more than one internet page is impossible, it struggles with just one. I have in six month had to restore this machine to its factory default at least 12 times.

The product just feels too delicate. I bought the item from Amazon, and it arrived as expected. I switched it on, and clicked to register it. The PC then powered down, and would not reboot again. The lights come on, the hard drive I can hear working away, but no screen. Its a badly made, flimsy plastic item. I have always had HP or Compaq laptops, but I would seriously not buy this brand again.

This computer has made my life so much easier with its speed, large screen and adaptability. I am not an avid user, but this suits me down to the ground for the work I do.

Bought as a birthday present for my daughter.

Sold as 'new' but had obviously already been opened and setup by someone called 'Richard', therefore the first thing I did was a factory reset.

Reasonably sturdy laptop with good basic specs for the price, but the WiFi kept cutting out despite a perfectly good signal and required a full reboot to reconnect, and the speakers sounded distorted.

Therefore I am returning this and will buy a different brand to replace it.

Cleanly functional, reasonably fast for the money, good-sized screen. If you are familiar with Office, the Starter version takes a bit of getting used to (it is not the full screen of the full version) and the advertising on it is a bit irksome, but that's the price for no price! The Presario comes with a trial version of Norton Anti-Virus, which I immediately removed (having had an unsatisfactory contact with Symantec many years ago since when I have avoided their products) and I've installed AVG which I prefer. On the negative side, the left- and right-click bars are very sensitive and I find it very difficult to avoid activating them as I type, so I use a USB mouse and keyboard when at my 'base station'. My wife, who is a touch typist, has the same problem. In general, really good value for the money.

1.0 out of 5 stars More than a month repair time, 28 Jan 2012

I bought this Laptop in December last year. It's got ruined in January 36 days after I bought it.
Phoned up the support and they told me it has to be repaired at the factory because it's got a motherboard issue.
I got a quote for the repair time as 7-9 days. They picked it up the very next day and the third day they changed the status of the laptop as repair delayed for some reason. I phoned them up to figure out what is going on and I was told I have to wait 12 of march for the new motherboard!!! (more than a month)
The lady said I know this is unacceptable and forwarded my call to the complaint department although I didn't ask for it.
Have a guess the complaint department told me that I have to wait next month and they can't do anything else.

So think before you buy any HP product because they can't afford any stock at the repair factory. (Flextronics at Manchester)
Neither can afford the "very" high delivery cost from China.

I asked the complaint department what's the point to having your department if you can't resolve anything at all?
This Company is just like a small dodgy cowboy builder entrepreneur with the cheap White old Ford Transit.
How is it called? Gate warranty or something similar I think. You lose all the warranty after you got through on door.

This was the last HP/Compaq product I ever bought.

The product is good.

Word and excell docs from office are not provided as standard but i understand that most retailers/manufacturers are doing this now to extract more money from people and ripping them off. There is a starter version of them but it was not fully pre-installed and i had to find this somewhere on the relevant drive and install it.

If the internet cuts out (due to our wireless) it doesn't reconnect without restarting the computer for some reason?
