I have had this for laptop for 18 days and so far there has been no problems whatsoever as long as you are not working as full brightness (which is very bright) and have all processes running at once the battery life lasts really long. The laptop can be left on for days and due to the "smart fan" control stays at the same temperature unlike some other laptops which will become very hot at the bottom part of the laptop. The software that comes with the laptop is very useful except if you get the model that comes with "veriface" recognition the software requires the person who is logging on to be in perfect light every time, so this software fails but it was a nice idea. As usual with laptops that have integrated graphics this is not for high end gaming however despite the graphics not being able to cope with most games the speed can; it is a very fast laptop with an i5 2.5GHz processor and all this speed can be used for multi-tasking as it also has plenty of RAM with 4GB. If anything it feels like there is too much space with a 500GB hard drive and also which is not mentioned in the description is the second 30GB hard drive which is mainly used for backups (Lenovo One Touch "Recovery" Program) 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

We are on our third (free replacement) Lenova which now won't play DVDs. I bought this for my daughter to take to university and the first had sound problems almost immediately, the second just died and this third one also has problems. When she comes home at Easter we may just buy another. It seemed good value with good reviews but has been nothing but trouble. Amazon have been immensely helpful but Yodel, the courier, company, have been useless. 5.0 out of 5 stars exelent, 4 Jan 2013

The Lenovo G580 is a brilliant laptop - I've loved it ever since buying it on 21.09.12. However, 20 days after I bought it, the battery declared itself dead, which I have discovered is far from unusual with Lenovos. After telephoning Lenovo, the supplier said that Lenovo wanted the dead battery and would send them a replacement to be then forwarded to me. Almost six weeks later, and not a cheep. Nobody seems to be able to get me a battery; it's working fine on mains power, but I didn't want another desktop! Be afraid of Lenovo batteries! Be very afraid! Other forums warn about the replacements not being much better! Clearly a serious manufacturing issue. But the actual computer - it's a cracker. It gets five stars; however, a minus category for the battery [and Lenovo-in-regard-to- batteries] appears to be needed. What Other Items Do Customers Buy After Viewing This Item?
