Bought the Sony Vaio S series laptop about a month ago - and it has proved a good buy. It is fast, has a 128 GB SSD - and a Core i7 processor (2.7GHz not the 2.1GHz in the product description). I run Linux on the computer, and all the key features sound, wireless and video adapter (both AMD and Intel) work with a standard install (OpenSUSE 11.3 & 12.1 beta 1). I added 4GB of memory to the laptop to take the memory to 8GB - this was straight forward with easy access to the memory expansion slot via a panel at the base of the computer, these is a vacant slot. The laptop is light but well built - the only negative point about it is the battery life is so-so, about 2-2.5 hours - may be better under Windows but I have not used it with Windows so cannot comment.

I am happy wih it after 1 month. It is very fast and light. The only problem I see and it isnt really a problem, is that it doesnt have a micro jack, only has "mic in" (this little hole to capture your voice without cable) What Other Items Do Customers Buy After Viewing This Item?
