Bought this laptop at a great price for home use. Boots up smartly and the face recognition security software is a nice touch. Thanks to Windows 7 64-bit preloaded it performs well. The casing is a little flimsy and feels plastic and lightweight. Not sure it will last as long as my trusty HP machines but was a good spec at a great price. Ordered this because I it had the spec I was looking for and cost £120 less than I could find from other manufacturers. I read reviews of the product from various sources and they all pretty much said the same thing: excellent hardware in a cheap box. This has been my experience in the month or so I've owned it.It is very fast for browsing, either with a dongle or at home with wi-fi, and still goes pretty quickly when simoultaeously browsing, working on an Office document and listening to tunes on Spotify or i-tunes. Does absolutely everything that is asked of it so far. I am not a gamer so to be honest I don't ask that much of it - mostly music downloads, browsing, Skype, and watching tv and films.
At this price there must be a downside? Yup. The casing is made of plastic thinner than an after dinner mint and is about as sturdy (but less flavoursome). I use mine at home so it just gets carried around the house mostly, not sure how long it would last if carried around regularly. Also, the lid doesn't quite shut properly. Basically, it's excellent IBM insides with the cheapest Chinese plastics around it. Time will tell regarding its longevity. But hey ho, it's really cheap.
Oh, and for people who want to pretend they're James Bond it has face recognition log in. I'm 40 and it makes me feel like an eight year old every time I turn the computer on...dum de dum dum, dum dum; dum de dum dum, dum dum...
