Pro's:
> Looks fantastic
> Chiclet keyboard taken straight from a Macbook
> Tough brushed aluminum finish
> Excellent battery life

Con's:
> Already dated processor - only 1.2GhZ
> Mouse pad can be awful unless you fiddle with the settings
> Comes with everything pre-installed

I purchased this laptop because I needed something for university. I commute, so there was no point in getting a powerful laptop, I just needed something which I could type up documents on, read emails, and browse the internet. For me, the main pulling feature for this laptop was the `chiclet' keyboard (search the internet if you want to know more about this). Personally, I find it the most comfortable type of keyboard to use.

The aluminium casing on both the top and inside covers is a very nice feature seen usually on only the top end laptops (e.g. the £1000 Macbook pro). It offers a scratch and finger mark-free surface which will last far longer than a plastic surface found on most laptops.

The battery life on this laptop is quite remarkable; it certainly offers me over 5 hours of work time before it needs a charge. But why is this? Sadly it's not down to a fantastic battery, but rather a weak processor in the computer.
At only 1.2 GHz, this Intel Dual Core Processor is a dated and basic unit, which has now been surpassed by the much faster i3, i5 and i7 processors. Basically, this laptop is old before you've even bought it. However with 4GB of RAM, it gets by. From completely off to opening e-mails takes less than a minute, which is quite slow compared to other laptops of this price range.

The graphics card in it means hardcore gaming will slow it down monumentally, but it can quite happily handle everyday tasks such as playing music and video, word processing, and surfing the internet.

The Touchpad for controlling the mouse is probably the most annoying thing about this laptop, as HP have really let themselves down with its poor design. It's so glossy the mouse goes flying all over the screen, and I found myself fiddling with the advanced settings to get it right for me, but it's still not perfect.

The last con I could think of was that all of the software is pre-installed. That's great for someone who doesn't know a lot about computers, but I found myself spending the first hour I had with this machine taking almost everything off. It was a waste of space which only slows everything down!

To summarise, I would say that this laptop is a contender, in looks only, to a Macbook Pro. Performance wise, I would stick to getting this laptop if the only things you intend to do with it are using Office, E-Mail and Internet.

Very nice little computer, the battery life is extremely good, practically it never dies. If you need only the baisc office staff, you won't feel the difference in processing speed.

This is a beautiful looking machine - with a very neat matching external cd/dvd player. It is highly portable and responsive. The image quality is good but I do attach external speakers for additional volume for sound.
Being a computer bought last year, I am sure this product has been superceded many times by others, but I still love it after almost a year of emailing, Skyping (with the built in webcam and microphone), watching videos, playing 'Angry Birds'(!) and creating documents.
All in all, a great little laptop.
