I have had an Acer laptop for 3 years and was very happy with it. It was an 18inch model designed and built for multi-media (watching HD movies etc). Due to being happy with the previous Acer model I chose Acer as the brand for my laptop replacement when the time came.My main requirement was a 17inch or 8 inch screen, an i5 processor and at least 4Gb of RAM but pref 6Gb. I had set a budget of around £800 so when I saw this model on Amazon for £640 I was very interested. To find that is had a decent i5 processor and a very generous 8Gb of RAM it looked like a great deal.
So far, after having the machine for a week the keyboard is driving me nuts. The keys are spaced with a gap between them and are mounted on what can only be described as short stalks. Now while the keys are spaces nicely apart, due to them being mounted on these 'stalks', unless you strike the key squarely in the middle it won't register as being pressed.
I can press each corner of the keys without them registering as being pressed. There is often a delay between the key being pressed and it registering on the screen. This is SO very annoying. The keyboard lets the machine down to such an extent that I would not recommend the laptop to anyone who needs to do a lot of typing.
This keyboard belongs on a machine that you would find in the budget price range of laptops. It feels cheap, it sounds cheap and it's very annoying. I am considering returning the laptop to Amazon as it is that bad. I have rated the laptop 3 stars based only on the actual spec for the price.

Anybody looking for an excellent,good priced notebook/laptop look no further! After searching through miriads of adverts i decided on this Acer because of it's looks and capabilities,after using two HP laptops previously (which kept overheating) i thought to give this one a fair go. I must say i am impressed.The only downside is to get used to the different type keys,being flat they seem a bit touchy at first,but overall a great machine,sound quality is excellent,and the little extra's that came with it are very useful. All in all highly recommended.

We bought this model computer for my wife last May. I was very impressed with the large screen good looks and speed.I decided to mothball my old laptop and buy this model. The only difference is that my DVD disk drive does not work.
Acer replied to my support request very quickly and within a few days of checking drivers rebuilding the system as per factory spec. We realised that this needed looking at. Now this is the rub. I bought this computer from Amazon so no problem there. They deliverd it to Spain as requested. When Acer UK found that I was no longer in the UK they passed me over to Acer in Spain. Three working days ago I sent them all the details from the UK site. No reply. I have contactrd Acer UK and informed them of the problem as I am running out of time to return this item to Amazon as it is not fit for purpose.
