Used this computer for a while and found it to be rock solid whilst doing any task it was asked to do. Plenty of memory massive hard drive and very quite operation. I will leave the technical details to the experts, all I wanted was a reliable desktop to do video - music and on-line work and this machine fits the bill very well.

This is from the Manufacturers description:
The HP Pavilion P6740UK features Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) in conjunction with a speedy 3GHz AMD Athlon II processor and 4GB of RAM, ensuring you'll enjoy fast performance from any of the pre-installed software - whether it's making a DVD from your holiday video footage or simply typing a letter to send a friend.
The enormous 1TB hard drive provides ample room for you to rip your music, back up important documents and store your digital photos uploaded from the 15-in-1 memory card reader. Featuring NVIDIA's GeForce G405 graphics card with PureVideo HD technology and 1GB of memory, you'll experience smooth gameplay and easy browsing.

The P6740UK features a DVD burner which can handle all popular DVD media and supports LightScribe technology - a nifty way of burning silkscreen-quality labels directly onto your newly created DVD using LightScribe-compatible discs.

Six USB ports ensure enough connectivity for any external devices you may wish to attach, including compatible digital camcorders, cameras and portable music devices. In addition, watch digital TV thanks to the TV tuner allowing you access to all your favourite TV shows. Connect to your HD TV via an optional HDMI cable and sit back to enjoy your favourite media in style.

It includes the Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) operating system

Somewhat confused and disappointed at lack of instructions on how to set up - i.e. no instruction booklet! Main problem was getting the wireless keyboard to connect. Outer metal casing of the computer is a bit thin therefore amplifies noise. Impressed with the quick connection to the internet and other fuctions. Too much info hidden and not easy to find.

I think this model works very well, it does almost everything that I want. After using xp for many years it did take a while getting used to it; the best way I can discribe it, it's like looking in the cupboards and find someone moved everything around.

Cosmetically the front looks very stylish but the top looks as though it's not finished; as my previous xp pavillion had a compartment for storing cd's and looked better; still this is a minor detail.

On the whole I am very pleased with it's performance, it's very fast (depending on your connection)some of the installed programmes are quite useful; the trouble shooter is better than the xp. Some programmes and hardware that I have do not work as well as they did with xp but you can get over this problem by using the trouble shooter. However, some do not work to their full capacity; even so, I would still recommend this model.

One thing that does get to me is that windows do an upgrade. For £120 you can have windows xp mode. If they know you need this for certain xp programmes, why don't they include this in the package? I suppose it's extra money for them.

Wireless keyboard, mouse and IR remote control are included in this package, some suppliers do not always state this.

I purchased this through Amazon and found them to be excellent.
