Having spent weeks choosing a netbook ( every one had as many negative as positive reviews), I finally took a deep breath and got this, and it is fantastic. I upgraded the RAM to 2GB as that seemed to be what everyone did, and the result is a real greyhound, it is amazingly fast and responsive. It is also SO light it's easy to carry around. Ordered this netbook to replace a 4 year old Acer laptop as I wanted something for carrying around to complement my desktop when I'm away from the office. Very pleasantly surprised by the power as I find it quite acceptable to edit websites and images even though it only has 1 GB of RAM. I bought extra RAM but haven't fitted it as it's a bit of a nuisance to do so and I haven't needed it! 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful

Chose this out of the myriad mass of available machines on the basis that I have one of the original acer netbooks running Linux and it's still going strong years later. This little beauty is a joy to use and is incredibly fast even compared with a quad core desktop. The cut down windows 7 possibly helps with the speed. I had planned on using the android boot alternative but haven't really bothered much with it as the windows experience on this is so good. Like most modern machines it comes with pre loaded trial versions of antivirus and office. I uninstalled the antivirus and put one of the better free ones on. For the MS office 10 it is cheaper to buy the key from amazon than it is to buy online from MS.Handy on a day like today, -5C outside as it runs warm and keeps your thighs warm - this could be a downside in summer.
