This review is from: Lenovo IdeaCentre Q180 Small Form Factor Desktop PC (Intel Atom D2700 2.13GHz, 4GB RAM, 750GB HDD, DVD-RW, LAN, WLAN, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit with Wireless Remote Keyboard and Mouse) (Personal Computers)
This is a very small, cheap and stylish looking PC. I bought it because I found it aesthetically more pleasant than the other nettops I could find around. The plus is that it has more RAM and larger storage space then most competitors in the same price range.
Do not expect great performance, with an Atom CPU and relatively slow disk is designed for low power consumption and small size, rather then performance. On some tasks my 6 years old Pentium 4 is still better, but this one occupies 1/40 of the volume on my desk and is much more silent.
It is perfect for e-mail, running office application and multimedia, if video is stored locally. I also run with an X-server without any problem. Not that good for video streaming: on the same network connection my older pentium laptop gives a much more fluid rendering than this PC.
It also comes with a very good small wireless keyboard and mouse controller, which alone would cost more than 40 GBP: it is ideal if you decide to use this PC as media center.
Overall I am satified with this PC and would recommend if you are looking for a PC for not CPU intensive applications.

Having sent a WD media box back 'cos I couldn't get it to work, I considered building my own. Then I found this. Its fine although TV is not easy to read as its not designed to act as a monitor. A friend suggested XBMC which I haven't tried yet for viewing family photos etc but its supposed to be great. As a small and quiet PC its fine and with a 500Gb disc it has plenty of storage onboard and with 4 USB ports its very expandable. I invested in a wireless keyboard and mouse which are also reviewed.

I've had this unit for about a month now and love it. It happily sits behind my TV and streams all my films from my NAS on a wired connection using XBMC.
It's had a few issues but thankfully they looked to have been sorted now.

CPU usage gets high until you disable wake on magic packet on the NIC.
Also had problems where the unit would shut down but the fans would stay on. I upgraded the ethernet and audio drivers, the Intel chipset and the Catalyst software, and it seems to be ok now.

Playing 1080p media might stutter, but if you disable all the video enhancements in the AMD CCC then it plays fine.

I bought the version without a disk drive and keyboard, and just bought a different mini wifi keyboard to use.

So if you spend a little time ironing out the problems it's worth it.

I may put a SSD in it eventually to speed it up, but at the moment it's fine.
