Ordered direct from amazon. Quoted 2 to 3 weeks delivery.

Laptop arrived today...amazon price today is about £70 less than they charged me 2 weeks ago. I know the price of anything can drop 2 weeks after you've walked out of the shop with it (sods law), but the item wasnt delivered until after the advertised price had dropped, so I'm a bit miffed. With electronic goods, the chances of it going the other way are pretty slim.

Having said all that, the price I paid Amazon for it is £70 less than HP were charging on their website at the time so I havent really lost out. It just feels like it :-)

To anyone considering buying HP stuff via amazon, where extended delivery is quoted, I would strongly recommend watching the price over a week or so because HP kit via amazon is subject to wide fluctuations in price.

Laptop seems fine, thus far. As its one of the HP business range it doesn't come with the mountain of 'shovelware' that consumer ranges do.

The non-reflective screen is ideal for people who actually do work on a laptop rather than just play games.

The relatively small display (by modern standards) is perfectly legible even to silver surfers eyes. Screen sizes larger than this always come with a numeric keypad on the laptop. That means your typing hands are offset from the screen centre, which I find irritating.

The touchpad supports '2 finger gestures' ... no really :-) Pinch to zoom etc, which I wasnt expecting. Sounded a bit geeky, but I was pleasantly surprised how useful it is. As with 'tap to select' (which I always turn off) the 'gestures' facility can be turned off too.

Fingerprint sensor login was something I've not met before. Works reliably for me, but I plan to test that others cant get in. You can turn if off if you dont want it as an option.

Battery seems tiny compared to my previous laptop, but the quoted operating time is higher. Have to wait & see how that turns out.

Packaging survived city directs best efforts to compromise it. The people who moaned to 'watchdog' about amazon's excessive packaging have clearly not seen the delivery guys tossing stuff around in the van to try and find the smaller packages.
